LORI WALLACE FRACTIONAL LEADER

Hello. I'm Lori Wallace and I am fully committed to your success and well-being.
I call myself a Social Ecologist because I devote my time to the design and continuous care of professional social ecosystems.
My work lives at the intersection of executive leadership, organizational culture, nervous system intelligence, and natural systems design.
For more than two decades, I’ve guided individuals and institutions through moments of transition, pressure, rupture, and renewal. I help to restore coherence between performance and trust.
Human-Centric Background
My career spans over 30 years leading across finance, recruitment agency ownership, and coaching.
Through this work, I've provided essential advisory support to complex, highly regulated organizations in the financial and healthcare sectors—including Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Health, UCSF, Scripps Health, and others.
I've had the privilege of witnessing and supporting epic turn-arounds and growth, including:
-
Partnering with Boards of Directors on CEO and executive succession
-
Advising executive teams on leadership composition and workforce planning
-
Supporting organizations through growth, change, and cultural strain where trust and continuity deeply matter
-
Executive coaching of established and rising leaders
-
Program development and deployment at scale
-
Crisis management
-
Story and mission work
Earlier in my career, while serving within a Fortune 500 financial institution as a national leader, I was appointed to work directly with the Bank President as the lead on Employee Satisfaction and Engagement at a time during complex, cross culture merger. This experience continues to inform my understanding of scale, governance, and institutional responsibility today.

Career Ecology, Coaching & Leadership Development
Having witnessed first hand the perpetual strain and despair of workers, in 2020 I designed and founded Career Ecology, a practice devoted to guiding humans through the deeply personal terrain of work, identity, and transition.
This executive coaching and advisory work centers individuals not just as "talent", but as human beings navigating complexity, pressure, and meaning.
By way of this work, I help individuals:
-
Build nervous-system-aware capacity for change
-
Navigate identity shifts and role transitions
-
Restore clarity, confidence, and relational coherence
-
Engage with compassion without losing personal authority
Career Ecology unlocks heart-mindful working and relating during times of epic change—leading to resilience and trust in the process and outcomes.
I could go on and on about my experience with Lori. She is such a gifted mentor, guide and instructor. Her totally unique approach toward nature, life experience and connectedness is mind-blowing. I consider this course to be pivotal in my understanding of self, and, by extension, my career and my relationships. – Senior Healthcare Executive
Personal & Professional Training & Orientation
My lived experience and training is both academic and embodied:
-
B.A. in Psychology, UCLA
-
Certified training in Polyvagal Theory Institute with Stephen Porges PhD
-
Certified training in Servant Leadership via the Center of Servant Leadership
-
Nurtured Heart Approach Certification via The Nurtured Heart Institute
-
Deep engagement and study in Jungian Psychology, Biomimicry, and Nature-Based Systems Engineering
This, in combination with thousands of hours advising, coaching, and listening to honest reactions to the complex dynamics of work, I've gained a deep understanding of complex human dynamics that individuals face and relation to power dynamics at work.

Ethos & Way of Working
My ethos is simple: I center every human relationship in trust, taking care to engage and respect the human nervous system.
I integrate the wisdom of natural systems — diversity, balance, rhythm, regeneration — to help organizations liberate intrinsic forms of success and well-being for all.
My work is rooted in decades of guiding people through:
-
Transition and loss
-
Identity rupture and re-orientation
-
Emergence into more truthful, courageous work
I bring a poetic depth paired with strong business leadership experience — orienting to the body’s intelligence, respecting inner rhythm, and holding a deep commitment to compassionate and courageous care of all whom I serve. I do this all with a strong respect and competency for corporate systems and culture.
